A Story of Heritage & Craft
Born and raised in Guangzhou—the heart of Cantonese cuisine—Pennie Pan carries with her the culinary traditions of a region celebrated for its devotion to fresh ingredients, balanced flavors, and refined simplicity.
Guided by a lifelong passion to share the authentic taste of true Cantonese cooking, Pennie brought her vision to Sydney, founding the original Steam King Legend in Thomas Street back in 2015.
In 2025, a second restaurant, Royal Steam King, was opened on Sussex Street through a new partnership between Pennie, Chas—a wine enthusiast and private equity investor, and Fiona- a corporate management expert. Together, they are committed to elevating the overall dining experience for their customers to new heights.
